Here are some more information for Cable Adapter: Most of us would love to own a home theater system that has a Hi-Def picture and excellent sound quality. But many people, unfortunately, are disappointed with the poor picture and sound quality of their recently purchased Hi-Def TV, DVD player, and speakers. Home theater cables are often the important components that people forget about. A home theater is not complete without cables that connect everything together. Free cables are usually included with many home theater electronics, allowing you to get your system up and running. People don't realize that the cables that come with the system are free because they are of low quality. Upgrade to higher-quality home theater cables, and you'll notice a dramatic difference in image and sound quality. Once you've figured out the types of cables needed to install your home theater, you have to decide which cables are the best choices for your system. There is a perplexing variety of cables, brands, and levels of quality to choose from. Your selection can affect the picture and quality of sound from your home theater system. As for sound, you'll notice a lower level of distortion and improved sound quality using shorter length cables. In the case of video cables, thick wires aren't required for low resolution signals like NTSC, which make them comparatively lower priced. The best video quality can be found with high resolution HDMI cables, but they can cost up to a couple hundred dollars. Plenty of mid-range cables can be found that distribute decent quality. High definition cable signals are similar to sound cables in that large cables should be installed in short lengths. When you are getting ready to spend money on a new home theater system, you should set aside 5 to 10 percent of your budget to spend on cables. It is a good idea to test the cables at your local retailer before you buy them to ensure that they produce the high quality picture and sound that you want. A number of brands and quality levels do in fact deliver better performance, but they're not all worth the higher price you pay for them, so make your cable selections wisely. Long network cable or a wireless usb adapter? The other computer is at the other end of the house...which would be better...the really long cable or the adapter?
So 1 computer is already connected to the router via a cable? I mean of course the cable will always be faster and more stable, but not if it gets slammed in a door and walked on all the time. But also if both computers are hooked up via wireless then your performance will suffer even more. If 1 computer is connected via a cable already and the second computer is in a place where it can get a good strong signal from the router then it will be slower than the other computer but it would still be pretty fast. If it can't get a good signal then it will be very slow and probably lose the connection completely from time to time.
