I have Direct TV with HD DVR converter box. Can I program my Samsung remote instead of using their remote?

My Samsung LCDs are 350 and 550 series. My samsung remotes are simple and use Any-net to switch DVD player and home theater reciever functions. Much simpler, user friendly, and you don't need all the remotes. I would like not to use Direct TV's HD DVR remote.

Nope. You can use the DTV remote for the other components, but not the other way around.

Or you could just by a large universal remote to work everything with one.

BTW, if you use the tv remote, how would you puase and playback the recorded shows?
