how do I set my Dell Computer Dimension 3000 so it will keep the same color resolution all the time?

Computer wants to reset itself everytime I turn it on to the lowest color resolution I change it and next time I turn it on I have to change it again HELP???

If this was caused by an operating system reinstall it might be a good idea to reinstall the chipset driver first.
