How can I transfer my recorded video from time warner cable to my computer? there is a USB slot in the front but I haven't figured out what i need to do. Such as cables or from DVR to VHS to COMPUTER or what?

All ports on the box are inactive, only out puts that work are the Coax, composite and component, Hdmi or DVI, all others like USB and SATA ports are unusable. This is for copywrite protection
